LEGENDARY MEN, LEGENDARY SPIRITS Much of our brotherhood was forged in fire during the first days after the 9/11 attacks. Immediately following this affront on our nation, the USA responded with a daring insertion of small teams of Green Berets into northern Afghanistan. The Northern Alliance successfully overthrew Mazar-i-Sharif, a Taliban stronghold, with the support of these brave men. This region’s inhospitable, mountainous terrain made efforts and enemy engagements on wild Afghan horses a necessity for one Special Operations team (ODA595). Nicknamed the “Horse Soldiers”, all these brave men are honored today by America’s Response Monument overlooking “Ground Zero” in New York City. We make history and continue to live legendary lives by instilling family values, adventurous spirits, and pride into Horse Soldier Bourbon Whiskey.
Kentucky Artisan Distillery is a very unique place in the distillery world. KAD is a contract distiller and bottler and currently serves as the home for Jefferson’s Reserve Bourbon. Serving as the home for Jefferson’s Bourbon means that a large amount of the brand’s distilling, bottling, and aging happens onsite. KAD also works with Jefferson’s to help many of their innovative products become realities. Visit our ‘Brands’ page to learn more about this relationship. Kentucky Artisan Distillery is one of the few distilleries that produce bourbon and spirits literally from the roots to the bottle, all by hand. We contract to grow our grains on 700 acres neighboring our distillery at Waldeck Farm. Our distillery is completely run by our distillers, not a computer. And every bottle that goes down our bottling line is touched by several sets of hands.

ORIGINAL AND AUTHENTIC In 2008, Balcones was nothing more than an idea driven by a passion to create something original and authentic, right here in the Heart of Texas. It all started in an old welding shop under a bridge in Waco. For the next year, we replaced the roofing, knocked out walls, laid brick, cut pipes, installed copper pot stills from Portugal, and shoehorned a whisky distillery inside that quaint building. Proud of what we had accomplished on our own, we began distilling in 2009.
We’re not here just to churn whiskey out, But to make something special to this area that draws on what is particular about our region. Our location is special because we are at the intersection of the Sierra Foothills and the Sacramento Valley in Northern California. The weather and agriculture around us are unique to here and we emphasize that when you visit us in our Tasting Room. Our operations, Amador Distillery & Dry Diggings Distillery, were started independently of one another in 2012 and brought together in 2015 with a focus on our locally grown fruit and grain. Merging the two facilities into one, gave us to the opportunity to focus these efforts. We are active in production weekly and have barrels aging past 10 years. Our small production capacity allows us to focus on high-quality and local products. We create spirits from beginning to end by working with local farmers, vintners, and brewers. We currently produce over 25 labels, but only distribute the more traditional types of products. We ferment, distill, blend and bottle all products by hand on-site in El Dorado Hills. However, we do also blend some of our whiskies, and our labels clearly state if […]

WHEN THE CLOUDS ROLL IN, SO DOES THE FLAVOR. Made by hand in Southeast Alaska. With a touch of Kentucky. Crafted with the same attention to detail that a boat-maker brings to his trade, Boatwright Bourbon is a blend of two Straight Bourbon Whiskeys: Our own recipe made completely from grain-to-barrel in our small craft distillery in Southeast Alaska, and a finely-made Straight Bourbon Whiskey from our friends in Kentucky. The character is so unique, and so local, it’s like a postcard from Alaska. We worked hard to make this Boatwright Bourbon excellent. We hope you enjoy it.

Inspired by the craft spirit movement in Oregon, Ted Pappas opened the doors to Big Bottom Whiskey in 2010 as the premier independent bottler of whiskeys located in Hillsboro, Oregon. In the initial years, the company primarily focused on merchant bottling of bourbons along with specialty finished bourbons such as the multiple awards winning Port Cask Finished Bourbon. In 2013, Big Bottom released its brother brand, Calhoun Bros. Adventure Spirits. Under that brand, the first whiskey pouch in the US market was introduced along with a traditional Aged Rum. The company expanded its operation in 2014, as they began to distill their own spirits in addition to aging, blending, finishing, and bottling their sourced whiskeys and aged rum. In 2015, Big Bottom Whiskey officially transitioned to Big Bottom Distilling, as they begin to release their own line of distilled products that include gins, rums, brandies and whiskeys. They will continue to offer their exclusive Warehouse Series – a boutique line of limited production spirits only available through the Big Bottom tasting room.

Inspired by our city’s rich distilling history, Chattanooga Whiskey was founded in 2011 with a mission to bring back “Whiskey to the People.” Following the success of our community-powered Vote Whiskey campaign, we eventually became the first distillery in Chattanooga in over a century. In 2015, we began the patient process of crafting our malt-forward style of straight bourbon whiskey we call Tennessee High Malt. After 8 years in the making, our Tennessee High Malt was released in August 2019, marking a new era in our company history with a whiskey that celebrates the future as much as the history that got us here today. Opened in March 2015 and located in the heart of downtown Chattanooga, our Experimental Distillery is the first distillery to craft whiskey in Chattanooga in over 100 years. With over 100 different barrels maturing in the aging cellar, every visit to the Experimental Distillery is an exploration of the past, present and future of hand-crafted bourbon. Stop by for a tour and tasting and to check out our latest releases.

The story of Woodinville doesn’t begin with a 100-year-old recipe or generations of family distillers. It begins with two best friends and a dream. The dream is to make the greatest craft whiskey in the world by bringing the time-honored traditions of bourbon production into a craft environment — using the highest quality locally grown grains, the best barrels and coopers in the world, the most technologically advanced distilling equipment, and the mentorship of an industry icon, David Pickerell, former Master Distiller for Maker’s Mark. And while the story is still unfolding, after being awarded “Craft Whiskey of the Year” and “Craft Rye Whiskey of the Year” two years in a row by the American Distilling Institute, things are headed in the right direction. 14509 Woodinville Redmond Rd. WELCOME TO NEW YORK’S URBAN FARM DISTILLERY Since 1922 my family has provided some of the finest men’s suit buttons available. For four generations these buttons have closed suits worn by Presidents, Popes, Kings, and Businessmen the world over. From a young age I went to work in my grandfather’s factory, but it was clear I was meant for a different path. I broke tradition and decided to make whiskey. The lessons I learned in his factory as a kid still guide me to this day; work hard, work with your hands, make your product the best on the market, and you can’t cheat time. My distillery pays homage to my grandfather and the world he knew – where real men worked hard and drank real pot-distilled whiskey. People always ask me if it was a hard decision to start my own company. And for me it wasn’t one decision, it was a series of them. It was a driving desire to strike out on my own; to make my mark on the world. My interest in distilled spirits grew over the years and when the chance to learn the trade came along, I jumped at it. When it came time […]
THE NEW FRONTIER In 1987, Thomas E. Bulleit, Jr., fulfilled a lifelong dream of reviving an old family bourbon recipe by starting the Bulleit Distilling Company. Inspired by his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit, who made a high-rye whiskey between 1830-1860, Tom left a successful law practice and risked everything to experience life on the frontier. Today, we’re not the only ones who are glad he did. A WHISKEY NEARLY LOST FOREVER A tavern keeper in 1830s Louisville, Kentucky, Augustus Bulleit was dedicated to a single goal: the creation of a bourbon unique in flavor. After experimenting with countless varieties, he finally came upon a bourbon with the character he had long sought after. One fateful day, while transporting his barrels of bourbon from Kentucky to New Orleans, Augustus Bulleit vanished. What happened is still unknown, and his creation nearly disappeared into history along with him. A LEGEND TODAY To this day, Bulleit™ Bourbon is distilled and aged in the Bulleit family tradition. High rye content gives it a bold, spicy character with a distinctively smooth, clean finish. Kentucky limestone-filtered water provides a foundation for the bourbon’s character, while charred American oak barrels lend a smoky backbone. Our aging philosophy is simple: […]

Luxco’s drive to grow has quickly allowed us to become one of the top USA independent producers of alcohol beverage products as we produce and market a wide array of products across all categories. In 2015, as our whiskey brands continued to grow and expand, we realized we were going to have to build our own site to service our needs going forward. As such, we began the hunt for our very own distillery site. Kentucky, with its rich southern culture, abundant natural resources of both high-quality grains and fine limestone-filtered water, was the natural fit. Building our own distillery represents a natural evolution for Luxco. We have been steeped in the bourbon business for over forty years, having others distill for us to service our needs. We learned from them and now understand that it is our time to do it ourselves in order to fill the growing demand for our products.
